Tammy Golden is Assistant Commissioner of Communication, Publishing and Distribution for the Department of General Services, State of Tennessee. In this role, she oversees the states graphic design, printing, scanning, warehousing, photography, and postal services.
Tammy has always had a passion for customer service. That passion led her to the commercial print industry early in her career. Her previous employment included Triangle Wholesale Printing in Nashville and Top Flight, Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Since coming to work for state government in 1999, Tammy has helped to drive transformation in Tennessee communications. She and her team have worked to consolidate print operations throughout the state and have utilized technology to offer innovative solutions for agency communication. The consolidation effort has increased efficiency in print operations and reduced expenses. She is also helping to drive the effort to utilize technology to improve the experience of the citizens who seek our services.
In 2015, Tammy created the Tennessee Government Printing Alliance to help create collaboration between all state print facilities, including those in higher education and penal institutions. This organization is helping to ensure state resources are being utilized more fully.
Tammy is a 2011 graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute and served on the TGEI Steering Committee in 2013. She is an inaugural member of the Tennessee Government Leadership Council where she served on the Vision Committee that created the Black Belt Leadership Program. She was honored to receive her Black Belt in 2015.
Currently, Tammy serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the International Board of Director for the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) and was a past board member of the National Government Publishing Association. She is also a member of Impact Nashville and Director of Lutheran Happening of the South.
